Jewel box update.
Who would have thought finding a screw to fit the mirror for this jewel box would prove so tricky. Eventually I found one that fits in but it's too long so will need to be cut down to size. After that all I will have to do is glue knob to the end of it.

Drop leaf storage table
I have wanted a new table for some time now. Our old one was wobbly and took up too much room. I was hoping I could find a cheap second hand drop leaf table but never seemed to see any :(. One day on pinterest I discovered ana white and her plans for making furniture. http://ana-white.com/ I fell in love with one of her tables and managed to convince my husband to make it for me. I helped hold things and did the painting but the hard work was all him. I love how it came out.

Jewel box
Yesterday my mum gave me this old jewellery box that she got from a friend but didn't want. It should have the mirror attached but one of the screws are missing. . I'm going to paint it add a new knob and when the screw that I need comes attach the mirror.

Thursday's makes.
Yesterday I saw this cute little make your own candy jewellery set in semichem for £1
My youngest preferred just to sit and eat, and not actually make anything.
This afternoon we had our first attempt at making rainbow crayons
We grated and chopped.
Then we popped it all into throw away metal ashtrays (that I had picked up in pound land thinking they were mini pie dishes doh!!).
We put them in the oven for about 5 minutes at (If I remember right) 180 degrees.
We left them to cool and when we popped them out of ashtrays, they looked like this.
WORD OF WARNING
When I opened the oven the smell wasn't too good, so I had to open back door and stay out of the kitchen for a while.

Mini washboard
When we were on holiday to Italy we stayed in a caravan and ended up having to do some hand washing. I said to my husband what we would really need is a little washboard, When we got home I looked on eBay and you actually do get a mini washboard. I couldnt wait until next time we went on holiday to use so I dragged it out today to wash some socks.

Italy remembered.
Three weeks ago today I was very excited about going on my first holiday to Italy.
We had great weather, some days the temperature in car was showing as 43 degrees.
The scenery was so pretty.
It was so warm we spent a lot of time cooling down in the pool
Can't wait to go back.
Princess and the pea - mollie makes magazine
I was naughty this year and got my birthday cards and money early, because we were going to Italy. One of the things I spend some of my money on was a mollie makes magazine, I don't buy them all the time because at £4.99 I find them a little bit expensive.
Yesterday I dug out the magazine and decided to have a go at making the princess and the pea toy. Unfortunately I only had white felt and not skin coloured linen to make her body. My youngest daughter fell in love with her as soon as she saw her and has claimed her, at least she doesn't mind about her looking a little bit like a ghost.
I still have more mattresses to make. I made the one in this picture by sewing fabric to a square of felt. I was gong to slightly stuff it but decided it was ok as it was.
